Board Elections

ts that time of year again, when we reach out to parents and members of the community to consider volunteering for a position on our board of directors. Our full membership meeting in which the new board will be elected is scheduled for August 10th at 6pm (location TBD).  

We will need to fill the following roles:

President – Leadership of all Little League activities. Organizes and manages all meetings, activities, and all events that correspond to Chandler American Little League operations. Oversee the Board of Directors. Primary “Point of Contact” for all Chandler American Little League activities. 

Duties include: Attending all City of Chandler meetings (CYSA).   Represents Chandler American Little League in all District 13 activities. Plan and schedule Board Meetings (Monthly).   Responsible for ensuring all Little League Rules and Regulations are maintained per Little League International.  Organize Parent Meeting.   Responsible for recruiting volunteers and coaches.   Master of Ceremony for Opening Day and Closing Ceremonies.   Administrative Role for all vendors (Pictures, Uniforms, Snack Bar, Umpires, etc….). Main Liaison for Parents - Concerns, Complaints and Compliments.

Vice President - The vice president presides in the absence of the president, works with other officers and committee members, is a member of all committees, and carries out such duties and assignments as may be delegated by the president. Organizes “Coaches Meeting” prior to start of league. Organizes “Field Maintenance” day with all volunteers. Assists in all duties of President. Assigns “Player Agent” responsibilities for each division. 

Secretary - The secretary maintains a register of members and directors, records the minutes of meetings. Works with Director of Communication in the responsibility of sending out notice of meetings and maintains a record of league's activities.

Treasurer - The treasurer signs checks co-signed by another officer or director (or as directed by the local league's constitution), dispenses league funds as approved by the board of directors, reports on the status of league funds, keeps local league books and financial records, prepares budgets, and assumes the responsibility for all local league finances. Responsible to obtain cash (change) for Opening Day Activities.

Player Agent - Oversees all aspects of the management of the playing members of the league. Manages the annual tryouts and player selection and sets up the regular and tournament schedules.  Assists in checking birth records and eligibility of players. 

Sponsorship Coordinator – Responsible for coordinating league sponsorships. Organizing and collecting funds for sponsorships and advertising. Making sure all sponsor banners, program ads, etc., are executed as agreed to in the signed sponsorship agreements. Note: All board members are expected to actively assist in the solicitation of sponsors. 

Communication/Marketing Director – Administrates web page, social media, and all advertising. Develops and maintains a league marketing plan, focused on player recruitment and retention. Responsible for all League communications and announcements. Ensures all key dates are available on the webpage and social media. Handles the communications for registration. Works with local media to promote the interests of the League, and coordinates efforts to make the league visible in the community year round.

Fundraising Coordinator – Responsible for all fundraising activities including Opening Day events and auction items, Diamondback Little League Day, and primary league fund raiser – ie.. Chocolate Bars, Raffle Tickets, Etc. Coordinates all Opening Day Activities, For example: Face Painting, Dunk Tank, Bounce House, Coin Drive , Silent Auction, Vendor Tents, Refreshments. Works with President on special appearances on Opening Day – Speaker, Mayor (1st Pitch), National Anthem Singer, Mascots, etc…Recruits volunteers for Opening Day.

Registration Coordinator – Responsible for all registration activities and events. Organizes all registration events. Works with Communication Director in broadcasting registration sites and events. Sets up online registration, and online player rosters, and is responsible for registering players with the league, city (CYSA), and Little League International. Works with the Treasurer to ensure registration payments and scholarships are recorded.

Equipment Manager – Responsible for organizing and maintaining all League equipment. Responsible for ordering of new equipment, tools, gear, etc.  Maintains Storage Sheds. Manages the distribution of League Equipment to the coaches. Collects all equipment at end of the season.
